The Yonko (Four Emperors) are one of the Three Great Powers that maintain the world’s precarious balance, alongside the Marines and the (former) Warlords. These are not official titles bestowed by the Government — they are acknowledgments of power. A Yonko is not appointed: they are recognized.

RED-HAIRED SHANKS
The Balance of the WorldLuffy’s mentor and former cabin boy of Gol D. Roger. Without any Devil Fruit, he is considered the absolute master of Haki — notably the most powerful Haoshoku (Conqueror’s Haki) ever demonstrated. He rules over Elbaf, the island of the Giants, and commands a fleet capable of freezing any global conflict.

- Lucky Roux — Sniper. The first man to use a firearm significantly in the saga.
- Yasopp — Usopp's father. Legendary marksman capable of hitting a target without touching the ants around it.
- Rockstar — Messenger and fighter. His 94-million bounty (considered ridiculous by Whitebeard) gives an idea of the crew's level.

EDWARD NEWGATE
"Whitebeard""The World's Strongest Man". An equal rival of Gol D. Roger, he refused to search for the One Piece because he already had what he wanted: a family. He died standing at Marineford, never turning his back on his enemies, after receiving hundreds of wounds.
His Gura Gura no Mi (Earthquakes) allowed him to destroy entire islands. His weapon, the naginata Murakumogiri, is classified as a Saijo O Wazamono.
His final words: "The One Piece is real!" — which triggered the new era of piracy.
KAIDO OF THE HUNDRED BEASTS
"The Strongest Creature"A former member of the Rocks Pirates, Kaido is the most resilient living being ever depicted. He survived 7 executions and 18 defeats in battle. His Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu, grants him a transformation into a gigantic Chinese dragon.
He subjugated Wano for 20 years, using its inhabitants as labor to produce weapons. Defeated by Luffy in Gear 5 during an epic battle at Onigashima. His son/daughter Yamato turned against him to liberate Wano.
CHARLOTTE LINLIN
"Big Mom"The Queen of Totto Land, mother of 85 children with 43 different husbands. She dreamed of a nation where all races coexist. Her Soru Soru no Mi allowed her to steal people's years of life. Defeated by the Law & Eustass Kid alliance in Wano — buried alive in Wano's mines.
A troubled link connects her past to Kaido through the Rocks crew and the God Valley incident. Her sons Charlotte Katakuri (Biscuit) and Charlotte Smoothie are among the most powerful fighters outside the Yonko.
☠️ The Rocks Crew: Before the Yonko
About 38 years ago, before the Yonko Era as we know it, the most dangerous crew in history existed: the Rocks D. Xebec crew. It brought together in a single crew what would become 3 separate Emperors: Whitebeard, Big Mom, and Kaido.
- Rocks D. Xebec — Captain. Roger's rival. His goal was to become "king of the world." Erased from history after God Valley.
- Edward Newgate (Whitebeard) — Already considered the strongest member of the crew by some.

In terms of raw power and strategic threat, the debate is more open: Blackbeard with his two fruits is an absolute anomaly, and Luffy in Gear 5 is now capable of competing with anyone. Shanks, however, is the only one who has ever paralyzed an Admiral (Kizaru) through his first mate Ben Beckman without fighting.
It's a political mistake that became reality! The Government believes he leads Mihawk and Crocodile (even though he is unwittingly their scapegoat).
