It is the treasure left by Joy Boy on the island of Laugh Tale, accessible only with the 4 Road Poneglyphs. Oda has confirmed that it is not "the power of friendship" but a real, tangible treasure — probably linked to the hidden historical reality of the Void Century. Appearing during the Reverie arc (between Whole Cake and Wano), Imu is the secret ruler of the world who sits on the Empty Throne — officially vacant for 800 years. The 5 Elders obey him. The manga is the original source and contains no filler. It is faster (1100+ chapters vs. 1100+ anime episodes). The anime has the advantage of voice acting, music, and color, but contains around 100 non-canon "filler" episodes and may slow down during certain arcs. Our recommendation: start with the manga if you have little time, and the anime if you want the full emotional experience.
It is the 100-year period (between approximately 700 and 800 years before the current story) that the World Government erased from all history books. The Poneglyphs are the only witnesses to this era. At a comfortable pace of 10–15 chapters per day, expect closer to 2 to 3 months.
